EJ recently sent me to the "Preview of Fall 2008 Collections" at the office of PR company Paul Wilmot Communications. When I arrived, I met Ryan Pleva who immediately ushered me towards well-stocked clothing racks. Ryan explained that the pieces on display represented the lines that he helps promote (ADAM, Allegra Hicks, Sean John, Monique Lhuillier, House of Dereon, Naeem Khan, to name a few) and that the event was a convenient way for editors to look at the designers' collections up-close, all at one time and in one space.
When he left to greet other guests, I ignored the waiters serving spring rolls and focused on Fall '08. I toured the various rooms, all lined with sweaters, dresses and accessories, and took note of what I liked for next season. Here are some pictures from my trip.
This is Ryan, my fabulous guide for the event.

I loved the handbags from Jill Stuart's fall collection. Her leather envelope clutches and wallets are beautifully structured, but still soft. They come in many basic colors, like black, white and brown, so they'll match any outfit.
I’m a huge fan of Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B. apparel solely because of the comfy hoodies and cardigans (my Mom buys the cardigans and I "borrow" them from her). Naturally, I was excited to see the latest sweatshirt designs, such as this green plaid zip-up. The grey one looks like a revamped version of the classic salt-and-pepper zip-up from American Apparel.
This jacket from L.A.M.B. is made of lambskin leather with gold punch-outs. I could never wear it, but I think it would be a great addition to a funky magazine photo-spread next season.
