Well, it’s that time of the school year again: finals.
Soon, we can all breathe deep, forget our exam material, and get wear out of our Grecian sandals. Thank god!
I'm thrilled to conclude my last semester as a college junior, but, unfortunately, it means I must bid farewell to my internship, too.
Interning at Teen Vogue was truly fantastic. I loved reporting from New York's fashion week, writing "Daily Specials," and maintaining my online intern blog. My boss, Online Editor EJ, trusted me from day one (ok, maybe day two), and he willingly sent me to represent the magazine at private events around the city. His faith in me developed the confidence I had in myself, professionally, as an aspiring writer. I'm so grateful for every opportunity he presented me with over the course of the last five months. Best. Boss. Ever.
I guess now is the time to say "thanks" to those of you who read my blog-- I hope you enjoyed it!
Many of you wrote to me inquiring about the application processes for both editorial and fashion internships. You should definitely check out our new FAQ page. I've always gone after the things that I want and so I cannot stress this instruction enough: Follow your heart. Whether you're seeking an internship at a major fashion magazine or a position writing for your high school's newspaper, whatever you're dreaming of is out there, you just have to reach out and take it. Additionally, to quote the playwright George Bernard Shaw (and reluctantly leave you on a clichéd note), "Life isn't about finding yourself. It's about creating yourself."
Don't ever give up.
